ILLUSTRATION

ARFA KHAN

Rome, Italy

Arfa Khan's work expands to a variety of styles and subjects, with a preference for storytelling and human, character-driven works. Colours, line art, lettering and textures also play an important role in her illustrative design works. The underlying emotions that usually come through convey homeliness and comfort, and they also aim to highlight the appreciable and enjoyable within even the most mundane.

- How would you describe the emotions that your art aims the observer to feel?

I want to create a sense of fun, relatability and enjoyability in the art I create. I think art can be serious without being too serious and I aim to make people excited and happy to see the work I create. A splash of humour goes a long way.
