Clara Vecchi is an Italian painter and illustrator currently based in Milan. As a creative, Clara thrives when experimenting and exploring new things, which through the years has led her to a diverse range of experiences. Notable among these are her extended stays in Anchorage, Alaska (2016), and Riga, Latvia (2021), each of which has inspired and influenced her work in unique ways.Among her most rewarding projects are her year-long collaboration with the Italian magazine Bottega d’idee, the creation of a multimedia scenography for the Factory 32 theater in Milan, and various design projects for cultural events, particularly with the long-standing collaboration with the Variazioni sul tema association.
— How would you describe the art that you create?
“I would describe my art as existing on the fine line between dream and reality. Each illustration carries an element of mystery, inviting the viewer to step into a fleeting moment of this strange world and ponder the story within it. I draw inspiration from Victorian fairytale art, traditional East Asian art, and contemporary manga and animation. ”
